En abril, Livia me invitó a hacer una exposición en Bélgica, en el espacio de una galería comercial en Bruselas que contaba con 2 pisos. Nos darían la sala del primer piso. Como suele pasar en exposiciones, siempre hay sorpresas y muchas cosas que se han de solucionar en el momento. En esta exposición los sucesos que acompañaron el proceso de montaje solo pueden ser descritos como un "catálogo de errores". Sin embargo, a diferencia de otros aspectos en mi vida donde me sumerjo en la negatividad completa cuando se trata de exposiciones siempre quiero sacarlas adelante a pesar de todo. En esta ocasión quería intentar 2 cosas nuevas para mí como curadora:

1. Escribir un catálogo de ideas que se desprenden de cada una de las obras seleccionadas y expuestas en el espacio, en vez de un texto curatorial.

2. Hacer uso de un tip reciente que compartieron conmigo: cuando no sabes por donde comenzar el montaje, asegúrate de tener 2 componentes que te guiarán en este camino: instala el trabajo que ocupa la superficie cuadrada más grande en donde piensas que se vea mejor y después - de tener dos trabajos que pertenezcan a la misma serie - sepáralos y ponlos a distintas esquinas del espacio, que se vean pero no estén juntas, esto hará que como un trapo de tela la exposición esté siempre unida como un ser coherente.

Me siento muy agradecida por toda la confianza de les artistes conmigo en el marco de esta exposición, su confianza y tiempo en compartir detalles sobre su trabajo. Quiero tomar este espacio para agradecer a Elena, Jimena, Fátima, Ximena, José y Sandra, también a Livia, Iyari y Tommy, sin elles esto no hubiera sido posible. A pesar que no mucha gente vio la exposición, me siento muy contenta con los resultados.

In April, Livia invited me to do an exhibition in Belgium, in a commercial gallery space in Brussels that had 2 floors. We would be given the room on the first floor. As is often the case in exhibitions, there are always surprises and many things that have to be sorted out on the spot. In this exhibition, the events that accompanied the installation process can only be described as a "catalogue of errors". However, unlike other aspects of my life where I immerse myself in complete negativity when it comes to exhibitions, I always want to pull them off in spite of everything. On this occasion I wanted to try 2 new things for me as a curator:

1. To write a catalogue of ideas that emerge from each of the works selected and exhibited in the space, rather than a curatorial text.

2. Make use of recent advice that was shared with me: when you don't know where to start the set-up, make sure you have 2 components that will guide you on this path: install the work that occupies the largest square surface where you think it will look best and then - if you have two works that belong to the same series - separate them and put them in different corners of the space, so that they are visible but not together, this will make the exhibition always come together as a coherent being like a cloth.

I feel very grateful for all the artists' confidence in me in the framework of this exhibition, their trust and their time to share details about their work. I want to take this space to thank Elena, Jimena, Fatima, Ximena, José and Sandra, and also Livia, Iyari and Tommy, without them this would not have been possible. Although not many people saw the exhibition, I am very happy with the results.
