Hay veces cuando mi bandeja de correos electrónicos me sorprende, la vida me sorprende y me llegan mensajitos llenos de cariño de seres de luz. Este mensaje me dio muchas fuerzas de continuar lo que estaba siendo un fin de año un tanto difícil. A finales de Noviembre, @DuenSacchi me escribe invitándome a ser parte del número 22 de @terremoto, su invitación me toma por sorpresa por su cariño y apertura, a pesar de no conocernos me comentaba que sintió cercanía al ver mi web y yo sentí lo mismo al leer su correo y su línea editorial detrás de esta edición de la revista. Cuando lo recibí lo primero que pensé es que tan afortunada soy de hacer lo que hago, ir a talleres, trabajar con artistas, ser parte de sus procesos creativos, escribir sobre sus trabajos, hacer exposiciones, poder hablar del trabajo de tantas personas que admiro. Pero también pensé que no tendría tiempo alguno, estaba regresando a Lima por una pequeña temporada y quería enfocarme en acariciar a mi mascota Namie, en jugar uno con mi mamá, en cocinar con mi papá, en ver anime con mi hermano y salir a tomar café con mis hermanas. Pero la vida como siempre haría que este viaje sea uno memorable, dado que las cosas en casa habían cambiado dramáticamente. Mi abuela estaba viviendo en casa de mis padres, lamentablemente su salud había deteriorado. Y todo cambio a partir de ese contexto. Yo soy muy creyente en hacer playlists para asegurarse que une esta acompañade de canciones que encarnen el momento, creo que así el día a día se aliviana o al menos se vive intesamente pero acompañade de voces y/o sonidos. Mi visita a Lima fue intensa y felizmente tuve la oportunidad de estar acompañada de este texto.

“Rutas hacia el deseo” es un ejercicio cartográfico sobre coordenadas a veces contradictorias sobre los deseos. Este texto, y las ideas que lo constituyen, solo ha sido posible por la generosidad, immensidad y bichotura del trabajo de Marisabel Arias y Joan Jimenez, la sabiduría de Victoria Sanchez, así como el apoyo, cariño, paciencia y genuino sentido de confianza detrás de la edición de Duen y el equipo de Terremoto. Quiero acá agradecer también a Cecilia Gabriela Juárez, Luis Chávez, Daniel Aramburu, Daniel Ochoa, Dorothée y Ana Gabriela por su seguimiento con el trabajo, me he sentido acompañada tanto en la escritura del texto como en la gestión administrativa detrás de este. There are times when my email inbox surprises me, life surprises me and I get messages full of love from beings of light. This message gave me a lot of strength to continue what was being a somewhat difficult end of the year. At the end of November, @DuenSacchi wrote to me inviting me to be part of the 22nd issue of @terremoto, his invitation took me by surprise because of his affection and openness, despite not knowing each other he told me that he felt close to me when he saw my website and I felt the same when I read his email and his editorial line behind this edition of the magazine. When I received it the first thing I thought was how lucky I am to do what I do, to go to workshops, to work with artists, to be part of their creative processes, to write about their work, to do exhibitions, to be able to talk about the work of so many people I admire. But I also thought I wouldn't have any time, I was going back to Lima for a little while and I wanted to focus on petting my pet Namie, playing one with my mum, cooking with my dad, watching anime with my brother and going out for coffee with my sisters. But life as usual would make this trip a memorable one, as things at home had changed dramatically. My grandmother was living at my parents' house, unfortunately her health had deteriorated. And everything changed from that context. I am a great believer in making playlists to make sure that it is accompanied by songs that embody the moment, I believe that this way the day to day is relieved or at least lived intensely but accompanied by voices and/or sounds. My visit to Lima was intense and happily I had the opportunity to be accompanied by this text.

"Rutas hacia el deseo" is a cartographic exercise on the sometimes contradictory coordinates of desires.
